What is DLT Registration?

Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) is a blockchain-based registration system mandated by TRAI. It requires all businesses (entities) that send commercial SMS or make promotional voice calls to register their business, sender IDs (headers), and message templates with telecom operators (like Jio, Airtel, Vodafone Idea, BSNL).

The primary goal of DLT is to curb Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC) and protect consumers from spam and fraud.

Mandatory Requirements for Businesses

To use Voni AI for commercial communication in India, you must complete the following steps via your preferred telecom operator's DLT portal:

1. Entity Registration: Register your business using your PAN, GST certificate, and Proof of Identity. You will receive a unique Entity ID upon approval.
2. Header (Sender ID) Registration: Register the Sender IDs you wish to use for your communications. These are typically 6-character alphabetic codes for SMS or specific numbering series for voice calls.
3. Template Registration: All SMS content and Voice scripts must be pre-registered and approved as templates on the DLT platform before they can be broadcasted.
